March Concentration

I'm planning on pushing the darks a little bit more on this piece.

  1. the top piece is my favorite out of the two. i am assuming it is supposed to be the "end of the world"? and even though there is really no such thing, it really captures the idea of solitude and loneliness because you can only imagine the feelings you would get if you really were looking over the edge of the world into nothingness. i havent seen much of your pieces but keep up the good work!

  2. I like the contrast in the first piece, it works well together. For the second piece I feel like the background needs to be a little more interesting. Maybe when you push the lights and darks include the background (or maybe you had already planned that?). Good luck with the rest of your pieces and the cow :)

  3. your concentration has something to do with solitude right? i don't see that in the second one much. I like the first one because it clearly presents a lone little figure in a purple umbrella. And I like how everything is shifted to one side but there are still pieces on the right side as well. But the hand with the rotting flesh, I don't get the solitude. is is a comment on leprosy? how that causes people to ignore/not like you? because that's the only connection I really get to a form of solitude, you need to make that more obvious i think

  4. the second piece is supposed to represent how you become a different person when you're alone. But I can see how you get leprosy from that.

  5. I can see how the second piece connects, it's definitely off the obvious path, which I really like. I agree with Lindsay on the second piece though. The background needs something else- I almost feel some darker water color, but keeping it kind of defined, or not, I'm not sure about that. The first piece I really like, the contrast and composition of it are really great. The waterfalls remind me of Bob Ross, the guy on PBS.

  6. wow I love the first one alot. The contrast of the piece is really nice to the eye. If your concentration is indeed of solitude, then I definitely feel it in both of the pieces. (more obviously in the first than the second). I know, from seeing your art previously before, that you can do alot better than the background of the second piece, you should push it a bit more (like what Lindsay said). I really like where these are going :]
